Original graphite drawing of a fragment from a facade in Fatehpur Sikri, India. I previously created a much larger, very detailed drawing of this structure, and the scale of it was so overwhelming that I began exploring smaller crops taken from the same facade. I chose this fragment for the strong diagonal that cuts through the square, creating a clear division between the stone surface and the carved chevron tiles.
