Original graphite drawing of a fragment from a facade in Fatehpur Sikri, India. I previously created a much larger, very detailed drawing of this structure, and the scale of it was so overwhelming that I began exploring smaller crops taken from the same facade. I chose this fragment for the strength of the diagonal cutting across the square and for the quiet intrigue of the small cross in the bottom left corner.
